I am sooo sorry I have not gotten back to you!  Things have been crazy since we got back from the wedding. 
I wanted to let you know that the wedding was more amazing than we imagined!  Thank you so much for all you did for us!  Our guests were in awe of the Church, the flowers, and just how helpful you all were.  Again, thank you!
I must say Amin and Alejandro (our photographer & videographer) were amazing also.  They were so professional and very artistic. 

Our friends who could not attend the wedding saw some of the pictures online and they were so jealous that they were not there. 
Again, thank you so much for all you have done for us!  Our wedding was perfect thanks to you!!

Hi Maartje,

Thank you for helping make our wedding so much fun! The weekend was laid back and relaxing — just what we were hoping. The setting at Al Cielo was beautiful, the food was tasty and the drinks were plentiful.  Also, the iPod music seemed to go off without a hitch.  The rehearsal dinner was also a lot of fun.  Our friends and family were very happy with the food and impressed with the friendliness of the staff at Ajua.

Wow, what can we say. Our wedding was perfect! It was everything we dreamed of and more. The church was even more beautiful in person and the flowers were exactly what we had asked for. You helped us every step of the way and put us at ease through the stressful times. You made planning a wedding in a place we had never been easy. We are so happy we made the right choice to have a destination wedding and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Where do I start. The wedding was fabulous. There is always that bit of fear when you are not directly involved with the touchy feely part of the wedding. We had the most fantastic time. Everything was PERFECT.

You did an outstanding job, we could not have asked for more. The beach was perfect, the cocktail hour was awesome. Our entire family can’t stop talking about it & those that weren’t able to come were jealous. We have great pictures that we have shared which puts everthing into living color.

The walk into town I could not have imagined. It was great & people on the streets knew we were having a ball. The restaurant was awesome & the food was delicious. We loved the entertainment & the FUN things they did. The kids loved dancing with the waiters, it was great. The flowers were beautiful also. We wish it could have gone on for a couple more days.

Marty said it was the best vacation he has ever had because we were able to share it with so many family & friends. IT WAS MORE PERFECT THAN WE COULD HAVE IMAGINED. Thank You for an AWESOME JOB.

Thank You also for the great job on the rehearsal dinner. The restaurant we loved & the food was great also. Everyone had such a GREAT TIME. It was the perfect lead in to a PERFECT WEDDING DAY.

We can’t THANK YOU enough for a FABULOUS JOB. We won’T hesitate to give your name to our family & friends who may be considering a DESTINATION WEDDING.

Maartje and Jeanette, you two are fabulous ladies. No need to tell you because everyone feels the same. Maartje, what would I have done without you? You managed to have everything done, in place, and made us feel like the only couple who had ever had a wedding at AJUA Maya.
 
I will write more, but for now I wish to extend our heartfelt thanks, and to tell you how much we appreciate you setting us up on the blog which will allow our family and friends the opportunity to see what we got to witness in person…
 
I love the staff too at AJUA…poor Tiger, I think I danced his tail off…!

Hi Brenda, Erika and (of course) Maartje!

When Tania and I got engaged, we thought that a destination wedding would be a great way to celebrate our big day. But we had no idea how to go about actually putting one together. We thought that we’d be on the phone a lot, making long distance calls to the priest, the musician, photographer, etc.

Then one day, we discussed the idea of getting a wedding planner, and after going to the Mexican Tourism website, I registered on your website (as the bride, by the way)…. That afternoon, only a few hours after I visited your site, Tania and I were astonished to get your call! Any stress that we were destined to have in planning our wedding evaporated within minutes of talking with you.

We can’t thank you enough… For the next 16 months, you were there for us to answer any questions, and, more importantly, to help us when we had to make adjustments to the plans (which there were many). It started feeling like all we had to do was show up and say “I do”. During our pre-planning session, we brought along two of the harshest critics we know (our mothers) and they left that meeting completely relaxed and excited…. They were able to enjoy the wedding day.

As we look at this blog, we don’t know how you did it… It felt like we were your only clients, but by the looks of all the posts, we obviously weren’t.

We wanted to thank you and everyone that was a part of our day… The music, the photography, the church…. There is nothing that could have been better.

We’ve recommended you to couples already and will continue to do so. We wish we could do it all over again.

Dear Maartje,
 
Where do I begin? I’m sure you have heard this many times, but thank you so much for the wonderful job you did coordinating our wedding. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
 
First off, I would like to thank you for being so patient with me throughout the planning process. I know I made things a little rough at times, but you were always so kind and helpful. You always made sure I was comfortable with every decision, even if it meant changing my mind a few times. I also loved the fact that you were always an e-mail or a phone call away.
 
Secondly, you made the 10-months of planning so easy for me! I was asked many times if planning a destination wedding was hard and my answer was always “no.” All I had to do was tell you exactly what we wanted and/or send you a picture and you made it happen! I don’t think you could’ve made it any easier for me.
 
I have to admit that I was a little bit nervous during our plane ride to Mexico. For someone who likes to be in control, it was very nerve-racking for me to go into the biggest day of my life somewhat blind and to trust someone whom I had never met. The last-minute butterflies definitely kicked in during that plane ride to Cancun. However, all of that changed the minute we met you for our pre-wedding meeting. When Will and I came in to Ajua! Maya with boxes and bags of wedding “goodies,” you listened intently as we went through every item with you. I could tell by your face that it was important to you that our wedding is exactly how we dreamed it would be. You definitely took the anxiety off my shoulders. I felt much more relaxed after our meeting because I knew you had our vision in mind.
 
All of this was reinforced on our wedding day. The ceremony was truly amazing. Capilla Nuestra Senora del Carmen is one of the most gorgeous Catholic chapels I have ever seen. When you first sent me pictures of the chapel, I knew it was the one. To see it in person….well, as good as the pictures were, it did not do the place justice. My heart skipped a beat the first time I saw the pictures; I think it actually stopped the first time I saw it in person. The intimate feel, the hardwood floors, the conch lights on the walls – it was exactly what we wanted and more. And the view of the ocean and palm trees behind the altar – amazing!
 
Part of the reason we decided to hire Ajua Weddings was because we did not want a resort wedding. We wanted our wedding to not only reflect us as a couple, but to also embrace our destination of choice. You definitely made that happen for us! The mariachi parade through the streets of downtown Playa del Carmen was incredible. Our guests loved the Mexican music played by the mariachi band….and the colors down the streets of Avenida 5 were amazing! Of course, who can forget our many fans….it was great to have everyone on the street stop to congratulate and wish us well on our marriage. I will always remember walking out of the church and seeing a huge group of people (strangers) clapping and cheering for us. I also loved how a few of them actually joined in on our parade! The energy was truly there. I’m sure you can see in pictures what a wonderful time we and our guests had during the parade. It was definitely one of the highlights of the night (after our vows, of course!). The cocktail party after the ceremony was also perfect. Not only did it give us time to take formal portraits with our family and friends, but it also gave us and our guests the chance to enjoy the beautiful Playa del Carmen beach. It was the perfect pre-party to our wedding reception. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers. The salsa, guacamole and mushroom stuffed cheese were the biggest hits! The mariachi band serenading us with the sound of the waves in the background was very romantic. We loved feeling the cool sand beneath our feet as we danced to the mariachi music.
 
I am so happy that we picked Ajua! Maya for our wedding reception. The casual, fun atmosphere of the restaurant was exactly what we wanted. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the ceviche – Will claims it’s the best he’s ever had! Everything was so beautifully presented. The restaurant is the perfect blend of 5-star dining and laid-back atmosphere. As for the restaurant staff, well, I don’t think there are words to describe what an amazing staff you have in Ajua! They kept all of us entertained throughout the night – from serving food and drinks on their head, to the infamous legs, and to the best conga line ever!
 
Maartje, I can not thank you enough for the wonderful work that you did with our wedding. Everything was perfectly orchestrated. You made sure that we had nothing to worry about other than to have fun and enjoy our wedding day. Our guests loved every minute of it as much as Will & I did. Some have told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, one that will be hard to beat!
 
Every little girl dreams of their perfect wedding. I’ve been envisioning mine since I was 10 years old. What I got on Saturday, November 24, 2007 exceeded all of my expectations. It was everything that I dreamed of and much more. You made my dream wedding come true and for that, I am forever grateful.

Oh hello hello!!! I am so sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you! We had such an AMAZING time, I can’t begin to thank you enough for such an wonderful job for our reherasal dinner! The food, service, music everything was top notch, I will recommend you to EVERYONE I know who goes down there!

Thank you so much again for everything! I have pictures but I haven’t downloaded them on to the computer yet, when I do I will send them your way.  Some of our friends when back to your place to eat again before they left, that says something!

Yes, there is something else!  Having you as a coordinator makes me feel as if I was there myself!  Thank you for making me feel comfortable in having this special day being taken care by someone else than myself!  For some it maybe easy because they are used to having everything done for them, for others, like myself, is more difficult as I am used to doing everything on my own.  Tks again for your total understanding!

Erika, Where do I begin? The wedding was like one of those beautiful dreams, the ones you never want to wake up from. Everything was perfect! You made my Daughter’s dream wedding come true. Our guest said that it was absolutely the most beautiful fun wedding they have every attended.

Being the Mother of the Bride I had no stress on that day. You took care of everything! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing such a fantastic job!

Thank all the staff at the restaurant they kept the party going. They made my 90 guest feel at home.

It was a crazy and fun day and too bad it had to end.

Hi Erika,

I just wanted to let you know that you and Maartje made our wedding so unforgettable. You two are truly wonderful and are great at what you do. You made the planning process easy and you had everything on a spreadsheet to show exactly what we were paying for. There were no surprises.

From the time I arrived in Playa del Carmen and met with you at our pre-wedding meeting you had everything taken care of and let me enjoy my vacation without worries about the wedding. You called to check in with me at the salon on the day of the wedding, which gave me a sense of reassurance that you wanted to make sure my day was as stress free as possible.

You made sure the photographer arrived at our hotel and that my bridesmaids and I had our bouquets for the pre-wedding pictures. You had my guest at the wedding ceremony before I could even think about whether or not they had all arrived. You had everyone seated and ready to go as I sat and waited in air-conditioning until it was my time to shine. You truly did an unbelievable job.

You had the maracas and cart taxis ready for the parade. My guest continually say my wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and I can say it was truly a success do to you and Maartje staying on top of it all. My guest thought the ceremony was absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was too, I was amazed.

The part I remember fondly and will never forget about the wedding is when I started to walk down the aisle and seeing all of my guests blowing bubbles and just the background of the whole picture that was flashing before my eyes. The backdrop of the ocean, the sand between my toes, my father walking me down the aisle, my guest all standing before me, the bright vibrant colors of the floral arch, the bed of rose petals leading up the aisle to the alter with bubbles blowing in the air. It was truly a wonderful sight and feeling. I felt so lucky and it was so beautiful, it was way more than I could imagine.

You had all the small details taken care of when I thought that they were forgotten such as making sure the wedding party walked barefoot down the aisle and the flower girls and mothers of the bride and groom had their flowers and corsages for the wedding.

The staff at Ajua Maya were great, that waiters were nice and friendly and my family loved their entertainment. The staff took part in making the reception fun and entertaining. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere of it all.

I can’t thank you enough for such a successful wedding, my family continues to say that they had such a wonderful time and it was the best wedding they have ever been too. Thank you again.

Everyone keeps talking about going back to Playa del Carmen next year because it is such a wonderful and beautiful place.
